Justin Cruz

Welcome

Hello, my name is Justin Cruz, and I'm a Computer Engineering student at Georgia Tech with a concentration in cybersecurity and information internetworks. I'm passionate about building a career that strengthens digital security and protects individual privacy.

I'm currently exploring paths within cybersecurity, including malware reverse engineering and blue team defense. While I haven't settled on a specialization, I'm drawn to the challenge of securing systems at both the technical and strategic levels. Long term, I plan to work in the private sector, applying my skills in environments where security, reliability, and trust are critical.

Beyond technical work, I care deeply about digital privacy and the ethical use of technology. While I'm early in my journey, I'm committed to understanding how privacy can be preserved through secure systems design and informed user advocacy.

I've built foundational experience in programming, systems, and collaborative projects through coursework and personal learning. I'm continuing to develop my technical background while exploring the broader landscape of cybersecurity and its role in protecting both infrastructure and people.

“Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say.”
